Wow!  What a game.  It started crazy and ended even crazier!  As I watched each play unfold, I couldn’t help but think that this game is very much like living the Christian life.  There are many life lessons that we could learn from this game but I’ll only throw out 3.

1.  It’s Not How You Start But How You Finish

Are you down in life right now?  Does it seem like there is an insurmountable obstacle standing in your way?  Before you can even get started it appears that you’ve lost and will never get back on top and become victorious.  But guess what, keep playing the game of life.  Stick to the game plan (ask Jesus to be Lord of your life and keep following the Bible’s direction and instruction)  and in the end you will be in position to win!

2.  People Will Count You Out But Whatever You Do, Don’t Give Up

I won’t lie, when I saw Atlanta score their 3rd touchdown, I said to myself, it’s over!  I stopped watching attentively and started to take care of other tasks.  Often times in life when it “seems like” we’re going to lose or that we’ve already lost, we lose our drive to keep pressing on.  We must NEVER stop doing what God has called us to do, we must compete until the final whistle blows!  Although others count us out and sometimes we may count ourselves out, Jesus believes in us.  He empowers us to win, but if we faint, if we give up… We shall never experience our greatest victories.  “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9 NLT

3.  The Sweetest Victory Comes Only After You’ve Overcome The Greatest Of Odds

I’m sure Tom Brady is grateful for every game that he has won, but NONE of them compare to this one! Winning always feels good, but winning when NO ONE thinks you can is even sweeter.  Here’s a nugget of wisdom: “Don’t expect every win you experience to come easy.”  These type of wins are the type that will NEVER be forgotten.  We generally cherish the victories that require us to give everything we have within us in order to earn them.  What makes us great is NOT just winning, but winning in situations where others crumble. Our ability to keep going and find success in the end is what will cement our legacy.  “I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name like the names of the greatest men on earth.” 1 Chronicles 17:8 NIV

Never forget that your success inspires other to succeed.  Your tenacity gives others courage to remain tenacious in their fights for success.  Every time you win it makes the next man believe it is possible for them to win too.  Celebrate every victory that God grants but NEVER forget the reason that you are victorious.  “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57 NIV
